Welcome to The Fertile Soul

Welcome to The Fertile Soul. I’d like to introduce myself, Theresa Johnson, L.Ac. I am Dr. Randine Lewis’s oldest daughter. Randine, creator of The Fertile Soul and author of The Infertility Cure, has moved on to allow more time for teaching and writing. I have taken on the amazing task of running TFS.

I’ve had the privilege of not only having Randine as my mother, but as my mentor. She introduced me to Chinese medicine when I was a teenager while she decided to go to Chinese medical school. I was always captivated by the wisdom of Chinese medicine, how the mind can affect the body, how the body can change the mind, how the smallest of acupuncture needles can create profound healing upon their insertion. After I graduated college with my degree in biology and teaching, I felt passionless about my career. That is until I took the plunge and enrolled in Chinese medical school. This is where I found my passion.

I did not necessarily have the goal of treating infertility. However, as I studied under my mom, I was enamored with how her work helped countless women fulfill their most desired dream, motherhood. Upon completion of Chinese medical school, my mom and I began running fertility enhancing retreats together. My mom presented, educated, inspired, and connected women. I worked one on one with retreat guests, using acupuncture, Chinese herbs, etc. The more I learned from my mom and the more experience I had, I realized, not only did I find this work beyond fulfilling, I had a knack for it.

I have my own clinic where I treat women with fertility struggles as well as any other condition that may walk through my door. Through my years of work with The Fertile Soul and my work treating at my clinic, I have learned one thing for sure; fertility patients are my favorite patients. They are motivated, they are resilient, they lead with their heart.

Going forward, I am happy to share with you all I have learned over the years. So, on that note, I will leave you with an excerpt from Dr. Randine Lewis’s (and my mom’s) book, The Infertility Cure:

There is no such thing as infertility; it is a myth! Rarely have I met a woman of childbearing age with all her reproductive organs intact who isn’t capable of bearing children. As long as the anatomical structures are present, a medical diagnosis of “infertility” is often a fallacy. Many factors can cause a woman to have difficulty conceiving, but once these factors are overcome and a woman’s body is restored to health, conception can occur naturally…

You can conceive. It may take more motivation and perseverance than you ever thought possible. But nature is on your side. With her gentle help and support, your child can come.
