I ran across this quote the other day – “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” Anais Nin
What thoughts and feeling does this invoke for you? At this time in your journey? Have you come to that place where the hold of infertility on you – mind, body and spirit – and your life, is so tight that you cannot even imagine what it might look like to let go? To let go of the struggle? To let go of the trying? Or even to let go of the pain?
What is the risk?
We each have our own threshold for pain or struggle. What is important is that we honor ours, and not worry what another’s might be or what another thinks ours should be. Honor your journey by being real with yourself, being gentle with yourself and above all, true to yourself. ALL of your feelings are valid. Only you can discern if those feelings are there to protect you or empower you. Or if they no longer serve you.
The winter solstice is the perfect time to go inward, and to sit with these thoughts and feelings. Allow them all to be seen in the soft moonlight of your awareness. Then open your hands and let out a deep breath. Let go of whatever feels safe to let go of and allow that new space to blossom.
